Vicariate Gathering Inspires a Culture of Purpose and Belonging

The Latin Patriarchal Vicariate in Jordan held its second administrative and spiritual meeting on Saturday, 28 March 2026, bringing together employees from the Ecclesiastical Court, School Administration, Finance Office, Our Lady of Peace Center, Catholic Center for Studies and Media, Family Office, and the Youth General Secretariat. The meeting took place at the Our Lady of Peace Center under the theme: “How can our institutions be transformed from a workplace into a mission and a testimony?” The day began with the celebration of the Holy Mass, followed by a welcoming address from Bishop Iyad Twal. He noted that this gathering is part of an ongoing series of “family meetings” aimed at strengthening unity, fostering teamwork, and deepening the missionary spirit of ecclesial service. He also emphasized the importance of continuing such encounters due to their vital role in developing institutional work within a Christian and professional framework. Fr. Imad Twal then delivered a talk on the importance of listening and its role in cultivating a more humane and spiritually grounded work environment. He stressed that serving within Church institutions is not merely a profession, but a vocation rooted in both human and spiritual dimensions. Referring to the “Golden Circle” model, he invited participants to reflect on three essential questions: what we do, how we do it, and why we do it. He also explored the deeper meaning of the Patriarchate’s mission, highlighting the distinction between “hearing” and “listening.” True listening, he explained, goes beyond sound to involve awareness, understanding, and engagement—fostering trust, inspiring action, and nurturing meaningful connections. The meeting concluded with participants being divided into five working groups, where they engaged in discussions on promoting a culture of love, participation, and active listening across the various institutions affiliated with the Latin Patriarchal Vicariate in Jordan.
